Andrea O’Hagen ‘My Brain Remembers the Words’ Visual Imaging Spelling Strategy Andrea will make links to her resources and also share the new ‘stuff’ coming out through the International Literacy Association
A practical workshop presenting strategies that enable students including those with learning difficulties to expand their visual capabilities for spelling. Link the research on the brain to eye movements and how these eye movements can be used by students to develop new learning skills.
Andrea (M. Ed. With First Class Honours) was a teaching fellow with the University of Waikato Faculty of Education for 12 years in the Arts and Language Department until Nov 2016. She was a research assistant in 2017. She began teaching in 1980 and has taught from Kindergarten to University. Andrea now works for herself and is contracted by schools and organisations to help improve students learning abilities and well-being.
