Research Scholarship for NZLA Members
The New Zealand Literacy Association is pleased to announce a Research Scholarship for NZLA members. This scholarship is to provide financial support to a current individual member of NZLA in order to undertake research in the field of literacy.
The total value of the grant will be determined by the actual costs of the research proposal to a maximum of $5000. These costs may include: employment of relief staff in the absence of the recipient, travel and accommodation and general expenses. Applicants will need to present a budget of their expected costs when applying, and submit a financial report and receipts at the conclusion of the project.
Each scholarship holder will also submit a written report to Literacy Forum NZ and present at the next national conference, upon completion of the research. The proposal should outline in-depth research in the field of literacy in NZ, be based on sound educational research methodology and must be able to be completed by the end of 2019.
Applications must include: the research question, research proposal outlining methodology, a brief literature review, a detailed outline of the expected costs, a letter of commitment from your employer, and a letter from the president of your local council verifying current individual NZLA membership.
