A team of researchers at AUT have been engaged in a programme of research into the place of Reading for Pleasure in New Zealand. In this session we will share some of the outcomes of the research and what that means for us as teachers of reading. The inclusion of Reading for Pleasure in Te Mātaiho: The Refreshed NZ curriculum and the ongoing debate about the teaching of reading is an important topic for discussion.
