A lot is known about how to design instruction in ways that maximise students’ success. However for students from non-dominant communities, much is still unknown about how to do this so that all students can be successful. In this session, Rebecca will share one response to this dilemma, and describe a how a Design Based Research Approach has been used to develop context-specific approaches which create changes in what happens in classrooms as well as student achievement. Rebecca will share examples from recent projects in clusters in New Zealand and in the Pacific.
