The workshop will be a look at the pedagogy that produces the best outcomes for Maori students and other marginalised students as well. We will also consider the leadership practices that support teachers to be effective teachers of Maori students.
Russell Bishop, ONZM, hopefully, does not need much by way of introduction. He is the past Director of Te Kotahitanga, now Emeritus Professor of Māori Education at the University of Waikato, and author of a wealth of essential research on Kaupapa Māori education and education reform processes. He is also a qualified and experienced secondary school teacher.
Prior to his present appointment he was a senior lecturer in Māori Education in the Education Department at the University of Otago
